Well the NFL playoffs are finally here with Wild Card Weekend about to commence and Hal Bent, I don’t think I’ve ever been excited for a Wild Card weekend like this one. Have you?

  1. Week 17 Takeaways

-Kirk Cousins looking like a colossal waste of money

-Teddy Bridgewater doesn’t look like the future in New Orleans

  1. Coaching Carousel

-Jets are pursuing Baylor head coach Matt Rhule. Given college football’s increasing influence on NFL offensive scheming, this might be the best possible hire for the Jets. What do you think?

-If the Jets hire Rhule, do you think Adam Gase should go to the Cardinals?

-It’s been rumored for several months that Mike McCarthy would become the new head coach of the Browns. Given his previous relationship with John Dorsey plus Baker Mayfield likely only going to get better, how good of a fit would that be?

-Best coaching fits for each opening: Browns, Dolphins, Broncos, Cardinals, Jets, Packers, Bengals, Buccaneers

  1. Colts/Texans

-How will the lack of receiving weapons outside of DeAndre Hopkins hinder the Texans offense?

-DeAndre Hopkins announced on Thursday that he will be dedicating this game to Jazmine Barnes, a 7-year old girl killed in a drive-by shooting in the Houston area. Nuk will be donating this week’s game-check to the Barnes family in order to help pay for the funeral costs. If I’m the Colts, I would not discount the fact that this heartbreaking story that touched Hopkins so much has the potential to make him go absolutely gangbusters on Saturday. He’s playing for Jazmine’s memory and her family. Would you have that same mindset if you were the Colts secondary?

-How big is the mismatch between the Colts receiving options and the Texans secondary?

-Prediction

  1. Seahawks/Cowboys

-Which battle will be most decisive in this game? The battle between QB’s, defenses, or ground games?

-Game-deciding matchups

-Prediction

  1. Chargers/Ravens

-Which is bigger: The Chargers advantage of playing the Ravens for a second time in three weeks or the disadvantage Chargers having to play a 1 PM ET game on the east coast?

-What is the main thing the Chargers have to do on both sides of the ball better than their previous rendezvous with the Ravens in order to win?

-Game-deciding matchup

-Prediction

  1. Eagles/Bears

-REGARDLESS of the outcome of this game, do you think the Bears were dumb to not bench their starters early in the game against the Vikings?

-Who is more important for a Bears win on Sunday: Mitchell Trubisky or Jordan Howard?

-Outside of Nick Foles, who has been the key to the Eagles late-season turnaround?

-Does this seem to be a defensive battle to you given the fact both offenses run pretty similar systems?

-Prediction

  1. Wild Card Weekend Bold Predictions

-Me: Darius Leonard has 3.5 sacks, 1 extra TFL and a FF to set up the game-winning field goal…clinching himself DROY honors

-Hal: Mitchell Trubisky throws 4 TD’s and for over 375 yards

  1. Challenge Flags

-Me: Bears…play with the “if you wanna BE the champs…you have to BEAT the champs” mindset. Prove Louis Riddick (and Hal) right and me wrong

-Hal: Andrew Luck, if you have to throw 50 times to win this game, DO IT!
