#58 Are the Jaguars a Legitimate Super Bowl Contender w/Hal Bent – Patriots reporter for Scout Media

December 12, 2017

Happy Hanukkah everybody! Well, we are down to the final three weeks of the 2017 NFL season and the road to Super Bowl LII took another unpredictable turn this past week. The turn consisted of devastating injuries and poor performances, resulting in a more wide open race for both the NFC and AFC titles. And our good friend Hal Bent, NFL and Patriots writer for,, and Scout media, is here to help us analyze where it all stands right now, and where it’s likely heading.

1. What were your big takeaways from Week 14??
2. With Carson Wentz out for the season, who would you say is the favorite to win the NFC Championship right now? How far can the Eagles go without him?
3. How concerned should Patriots fans be based on last night? On a scale of 1-10, how badly do they need home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs?
4. Are the Jaguars a legitimate Super Bowl contender?
5. Chargers/Chiefs
• What was the key to the Chiefs getting back on track against the Raiders last week, and what do they need to do even better to get a win this Saturday?
• Which player is more important to their team: Keenan Allen or Kareem Hunt?
• What matchup will decide this game?
• Who wins?
6. Patriots/Steelers
• Would you expect the Patriots to run the ball more than usual given Pittsburgh’s struggles in run defense minus Ryan Shazier?
• You know Belichick will try to take away (or severely restrict) Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. Who will the Steelers look to in order to make plays in that scenario: Martavis Bryant or JuJu Smith-Schuster?
• What will be the deciding factor in this game?
• Who wins?
7. Rams/Seahawks
• Should the Rams be as concerned with their depleted CB depth chart as the Seahawks should be with the potential absence of both Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright??
• How likely is it that the winner of this game wins the division?
• What will be the deciding factor in this game?
• Who wins?
8. Rapid Fire Picks for the rest of Week 15
-Colts/Broncos, Bears/Lions, Packers/Panthers, Bengals/Vikings, Jets/Saints, Dolphins/Bills, Ravens/Browns, Texans/Jaguars, Eagles/Giants, Cardinals/Redskins, Titans/49ers, Cowboys/Raiders, Falcons/Buccaneers
